EMOTIONS AND THE LARGE INTESTINE
The large intestine or colon is the last portion of the digestive tract. It basically is the trash can of our bodies, storing the waste passed from the small intestine. The small intestine absorbs nutrients in liquid form, passes to large intestine, water is then reabsorbed, and fecal matter is expelled. The large intestine’s main objective is to expel all waste through peristalsis – a natural pumping action.
Processed foods within this section of the digestive tract can be a breeding ground for yeast, bacteria, mold, or fungus. When infection or inflammation gets in the large intestine it can hinder the pumping action of the colon.
