Healing the Pineal Gland will help relieve insomnia and heal your emotions.

The body uses a hormone called melatonin to sleep.

Melatonin is produced by the pineal gland which is located in the center of the brain.

The pineal is responsible for converting serotonin into melatonin. Melatonin is a hormone which helps regulate our sleep.

Our bodies take tryptophan from our diet, convert it into serotonin, and this is eventually is turned into melatonin. (That is why turkey can make you tired, because it has tons of tryptophan in it.)

If insomnia is an issue, we can feed the pineal some basic nutrients to see if it helps.

  • Tryptophan = 1000-2000mg at night
  • Melatonin = 1-3mg at night

Low dosages of melatonin and tryptophan are great for sleep, but if it doesn’t get you to sleep it can be telling you something else. Your pineal gland may not be converting tryptophan or serotonin into melatonin.

The vitamins and minerals in charge of breaking these hormones down into usable melatonin are:

  • Vitamin B12, B6 (P5P), B5, B2, B1
  • Vitamin C
  • Zinc
  • Selenium
  • Magnesium
  • NAC (N-acetyl cysteine)

I am NOT suggesting you take all of these vitamins and minerals. Try and find a health professional that can test you for these supplements and see if basic nutrients can’t help the pineal and create sleep for you.

And make sure that your room is completely dark when you go to sleep :-). Your body needs darkness for the pineal to work properly, it regulates hormones by the amount of light and darkness your body perceives.
