PTSD AND YOUR GENETICS

PTSD and Your Genetics

If you have suffered or know someone who has suffered from PTSD, consider the genetic effect of hormone and neurotransmitter imbalance in your family tree. Has anyone else in your family felt the effects of PTSD?

PTSD has been linked to particular genes. There are many genes that can contribute to anxiety, aggression, lack of sleep, hyper sensitivity, panic, insomnia, allergies, ADD and defensiveness-all contributing components of PTSD.

If you suffer or have suffered from PTSD, please research the MAO-A and MAO-B gene. These genes are responsible for the breakdown of serotonin, noradrenaline, histamine, and dopamine.

These hormones help us sleep, relax, create energy, and overall feel good. When they do not break down and recycle within the body it lead to the signs and symptoms of PTSD. The genes that break down these hormones are the MAO genes.

If you have an MAO-A or B variant/mutation, you are more prone to have PTSD symptoms.

Things to consider:
Gene Testing:
MaxGenlabs.com
MTHFRSupport.com
Promethease.com

These I just a few examples. You can take raw genetic data from ancestry.com ane 23andme.com and place them within the programs of MTHFRsupport or Promethease.

The vitamins and minerals that help regulate and balance these genes are:
B6 and P5P
B2
Magnesium
Manganese

Don’t be overwhelmed. Just research and let me know what you think. PTSD CAN BE HELPED!

Be well!
