WINTER ALLERGIES
WHAT — Winter Allergies?
How can we have allergy symptoms in the middle of winter…when there is no pollen or ragweed blooming? Many people have allergy symptoms without full blown cold or flu symptoms.
Most allergies are created by hidden chronic infections. That is why the allergy type reaction “leads” to the cold. More than likely you already had the infection, it just popped up when you were weakened.
2 types of immune response
- Innate-born with it
- Adaptive-body Learns the infection by antibody activity
When the body encounters infections from viruses or bacteria, it activates our INNATE immune system (TH1) response. It should kill off the infections within 5-7 days.
If the INNATE system is weakened and the infection lasts more than 7 days then the body activates the ADAPTIVE immune system. This is a different type of cellular response. It can initiate mast cell and histamine production, which gives allergy symptoms in winter:
- Watery eyes
- Runny nose
- Itching
As your adaptive system is chronically activated and producing allergy symptoms it will suppress the innate activity. But you need the innate to kill the allergy causing infections!
What keeps innate system going?
VITAMIN D, and add in vit K, A, E, and C for added umph:) When you build the innate system you will kill infection and reduce the allergy symptoms now and in the years to come.
You will reduce your need for Cingular and those types medication.
